A short film (in progress) depicting the pigeon sport of colombicultura through the genre of magical realism. The film currently exists as a draft script, storyboard, location and character shots and costume designs.

Synopsis

José, a recently widowed man, discovers that his late wife has been reincarnated as a female colombicultura pigeon. In order to be close to her again, he and his male pigeon must win the colombicultura game, seducing her once more in a second life. But this comes with a certain level of commitment. As he trains his pigeon counterpart in the lead up to the game, his sense of self and identity begin to disintegrate. Finally, upon his climactic victory, distinctions between man and bird fall apart altogether, and José too takes pigeon form. The film ends with lovers reunited in their home but facing a new challenge - how to be a bird in a human world.
